Many airlines fly to Tocumen International Airport (PTY) near Panama City. United Airlines has direct flights from Newark and Huston, AA and COPA from Miami, Delta from Atlanta, Iberia from Madrid, KLM from Amsterdam, Air France from Paris and Lufthansa from Frankfurt.
Domestic flights to Bocas del Toro depart from the domestic airport in Albrook near Panama City, and some flights now depart also from Tucumen International Airport. Land travel alternative: buses operate between the cities of Panama and David to the port of Almirante. Charter a taxi from Boquete or David is a good alternative to the plane. To use a shuttle company is also very easy and fast. Hello Panama offers the trips from Boquete or David to Almirante and Caribe Shuttle do the route from Costa Rica (San-Jose, Cahuita or Puerto Viejo) to Almirante. Comfortable and fast water taxis ($6.00/20 minutes) connect the port of Almirante to the town of Bocas del Toro, on Colon Island. Please use either the water taxi company called TAXI VALENCIA, as their office in Bocas are located close to our office, the Al Natural landing in Bocas, please walk go on your the left on main street when leaving their office in Bocas.
